Personalising your loved one’s funeral – a final farewell they would have loved
Arranging the final send off and getting the balance between your loved one’s wishes and your own needs, is by no means an easy task. By being able to recollect with other mourners what was really special about the loved one, making their farewell uniquely personal can provide comfort, and in many instances, joy during the service.
Our facilities and technology at Vale Royal Crematorium are state-of-the-art and unique to the whole of the UK. We are able to provide various themes to personalise a loved one’s funeral, in our chapel as well the waiting room.
From the moment you enter the chapel, our canvas themes help you to experience a deeply personal tribute by using immersive visuals, meaningful images and complementary lighting.
Reflect your loved one’s story with a Personalised Experience
When you choose a Personalised Experience, it’s beautifully reflected throughout multiple areas of the venue. From the moment you arrive, your loved one’s memory is honoured through:
- The Welcome Screen – greeting family and friends with warmth and remembrance
- Their name and Halo Photo on the Canvas – a touching focal point throughout the service displaying their image and name
- A matching Themed Tribute – up to 25 cherished photos accompanied by a song of your choice to be played at a chosen moment during the service
- The Gallery - an area to reflect before or after the service with your carefully selected images in digital frames on the wall
Every element works together to create a deeply personal and comforting experience for all who gather to pay their respects.
Welcome Screen and Gallery
When choosing a Personalised Experience, it begins the moment you arrive at the chapel. The welcome screen at the entrance warmly displays your loved one’s name, setting the tone for a meaningful farewell.
Our waiting room includes 25 digital image picture frames together with a nameplate which can be utilised for creating a tribute gallery prior to the service. While families wait for the service to begin, they can view key moments in the life of the deceased, available in our waiting room.
Music Tributes or Themed Tributes will also appear on the Gallery wall, free of charge.

Football
Celebrate the passion and spirit of your loved one with the Football Collection, designed for those who lived and breathed the game. Whether they were a devoted supporter or played on the field, these experiences honour their love for football in a meaningful way.
Inclusive Canvas Themes
Our state-of-the-art media technology is able to transform the entire wall space around the catafalque into a themed backdrop (Canvas). High-spec audio equipment and customisable lighting enable families to enhance the canvas projections with carefully curated accompanying music and lighting, tailoring the whole chapel to reflect the life of the loved one being remembered.
Where other UK venues can only provide visual tributes and photos of a loved one on chapel screens, our canvas wall serves as the entire visual tribute backdrop for a service.
Other ways of personalising a service
There are many other ways in which we can make your loved one’s service uniquely personal, which include:
- Add cultural or spiritual elements to any Personalised Experience
- Dressing our chapel to complement a theme
- Bringing a family pet along
- Releasing doves
- Accommodating unusual vehicles instead of a traditional hearse
- Major religious symbols can be added to the above backgrounds, if desired
We are here to help discuss your needs and assist with transforming the chapel to a uniquely personal space for your loved one’s final farewell.
Got preference for a traditional service?
Whilst many people are looking for more personal ways of remembering their loved ones, we understand that this is not for everyone. It is our desire to create a final farewell that suits your unique needs and if a traditional service is your preference, you will be in safe hands with us.
Our chapel can host religious and non-religious traditional services and all above mentioned features can be switched off to facilitate a simpler, traditional service.
If required, in addition to modern music, our media system includes a wide range of traditional hymns which can be played throughout the service and/or when the curtains close, as a moment of reflection.
